Tubular skylights are the alternative for spaces where a full skylight isn't practical — small bathrooms, closets, interior hallways. A 10-inch or 14-inch dome on the roof captures daylight through a reflective tube that channels it to a ceiling diffuser. Site Assessment
We assess your roof from above and inside the attic. We locate the trusses and rafters, check the roof deck sheathing condition, and identify the best skylight placement for natural light based on sun angle, room layout, and roof pitch.
Roof Opening & Framing
We cut the roof deck opening through the sheathing and shingles, then frame a structural curb between the rafters with doubled lumber. Headers distribute the load around the opening. The curb provides a solid, level base for the skylight unit.
Weather Barrier
Self-adhering ice-and-water shield on all curb faces. Step flashing along both sides lapped under each shingle course. Head flashing at the top, apron flashing at the bottom. Waterproof sealant at every overlap and transition. The flashing makes or breaks the installation.
Install & Insulate
Skylight seated, sealed, and integrated into the roofline. Interior light shaft insulated with rigid foam. Trim and drywall finished inside. Final inspection from the attic confirms zero gaps, zero daylight showing at flashing joints.
